| A Therapy Above Wellness Centers are what the new trend for todays Health care indicates. |
This is the Millennium for Integrative Medicine. More than 80 million Americans turn to complementary (or alternative) medicine every year. Complementary medicine is now mainstream in the U.S., and growing quickly. Increasing demand "will affect all aspects of health care delivery over the next 25 years," according to a Harvard Medical School study (August 2001). People are wanting personalized care: An approach that goes way beyond medical history to include mental, emotional, spiritual and lifestyle issues so care plans are created that treat the whole person. Most, are demanding more then a ten minute check up. People are looking for help with their Wellness due to a continuing Overweight epidemic. Along with the increase in childhood obesity we're beginning to see an epidemic of adult onset, or type 2, diabetes in children 9 to 12. If that child develops diabetes before they're 14 years of age they are shortening their life span by 17 to 27 years. This has reached such a state that this may be the first generation in which the parents outlive the children. |
